Nagaland H & TE Minister to focus on bringing change

Kohima, March 14 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education held a reception programme in honour of Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher & Technical Education.  

Addressing the gathering of officers and staff of the Directorate, the Minister said that every employee is same whether the Director or the Peon, in every capacity, every assignment is important and everyone should work hard and give their best towards the assigned duties.  

“We are working for the welfare of the young generation and the people, the future of the younger generation and people lay in our hand,” he said and that, “The coming generation should not suffer like the present generations.”  

He said that change will not come walking towards us but we have to bring the changes by our self. “In order to bring changes, one must change oneself with sincerity, hard work, dedication and with integrity,” he said.  

The Minister remarked that the Government will not give salary to those employees who are not working, unless a person is sick and cannot attend office. “For the past many years, Government employees have neglected their duties and wasted enough time, therefore, it is time to work hard and to recover all those wasted time and days,” he added.  

In regard to fixed pay or casual employees who have been serving the department for many years, their cases will be taken up for regularization, if the employees sincerely work and contributed towards the department. “Insincere and unproductive employees cases will not be entertained whatsoever, be it anybody,” the Minister strongly conveyed.  

Further, the Minister said that all are expected to perform the assigned duty and walk the extra mile to achieve new heights. He mentioned that he is not interested in Government facilities and likewise all the officers and staff should remain the same.  

The Minister also stressed on the student’s enrollment to enhance from existing 650 to 2000 in the coming year. The Minister also emphasized on pro-activeness of the Department in the usage of Information Technology. The Minister also informed that he will be visiting the office from time to time mostly unannounced.
