
Pension anomalies of ex-servicemen amounting to Rs. 48 lakh resolved in state

Several ex- servicemen from Kohima, Phek and Kiphire districts today turned up at the ex- servicemen rally hosted by Headquarters 44 Mountain Brigade in coordination with Rajya Sainik Board of Nagaland at Zakhama Military Station. Numbers of stalls were put up at the rally to educate and address the concerns of veterans and Veer Naris. The most important of them was the ‘Pensioner Grievance Cell’ activated to address pension related issues of the ex-servicemen. The ‘Suvigya Portal’ alongwith OROP calculator was instrumental in resolving many ex-servicemen pension issues with continuous efforts of a dedicated team. Till date, pension anomalies of Nagaland ex-servicemen amounting to Rs 48 lakh have been resolved.
Medical camp was also organized to provide medical aid to the ex-servicemen.
Source told The Morung Express that there are over 300 ex-servicemen from Kohima district and 100 plus each from Kiphire and Phek districts. The total number of ex-servicemen in Nagaland stands at more than 4000.
At the programme, Brigadier HS Cheema, Commander, 44 Mountain Brigade extended a warm welcome to the veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents. He emphasized on the schemes of the Army and the state government tailored exclusively for the welfare of the servicemen and their families. He complimented Rajya Sainik Board (Nagaland) for addressing the issues regarding welfare of veterans and bringing all the stakeholders under one roof.
Brig KK Roy Choudhary, SM, VSM (Retd), Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board also addressed the rally and highlighted efforts by the State Government to alleviate the conditions of ex-servicemen.
The rally culminated with a Sainik Bhoj with Military band in attendance.
