Kohima, May 23 (MExN): Nagaland state is lacking in infrastructure to effectively implement e-governance in the state, a workshop on ‘e-governance project life cycle’ said today. Held at The Heritage in Kohima the workshop revealed that Nagaland has the worst infrastructure in information technology and communication in the country comparing to other states in the country.
Nonetheless, the Nagaland Information Technology and Communication department has plans to educate one person in every village ‘on information technology and communication’, particularly computer application, workshop coordinator Chura Katiry informed.
Speaking at the inaugural program, Prof. JC Kapur from the National Institute of Smart Governance stressed on the importance of implementation of e-governance infrastructure by any state or central government. He said the step helps the government administration at the various levels to function properly. The resource persons during the five-day workshop included Prof. JC Kapur, Murali K Bommireddy and Abhi Ray. Representatives from various state government departments are also participating in the workshop.
