Minister S Pangyu Phom with Drugs control officials and Secretary and Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare department.
Kohima, February 12 (MExN): Minister of Health and Family, Government of Nagaland, S Pangyu Phom along with the Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and Principal Director, department of Health and family welfare convened a review with the Drugs Control officers, department of Health and family welfare on February 11 at his official residence.
The Minister deliberated with the officials on the activities and functions of the Nagaland State Drugs Control Authority, stated a press release issued by W H Patton, Additional Drugs Controller, Controlling and Licensing Authority.
The Minister directed the Drugs Control Officials for strict enforcement of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act and Rules in the interest and safety of the public health and any deviation from the laws will not be tolerated henceforth.
The Minister also directed the officials to take stern action against any licensed pharmacies running without fulfilling all mandatory requirements as per law and for which the state Government shall give full support. He has directed the officials to submit total revenue generated through the sale of drugs/medicine by licensed medicine dealers in both retail and wholesale to the Government.
Further he stressed that all departmental promotion shall be based on Merit cum seniority as per state government standing order and encouraged the officials to work sincerely towards quality healthcare delivery.
