Training on operation and maintenance of Pressure Swing Adsorption medical oxygen generation plant underway at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima from July 18 to 25.

Kohima, July 20 (MExN): Onsite seven-day training on operation and maintenance of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) medical oxygen generation plant organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland for the health workers is ongoing at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) from July 18 to 25. 

A total of 29 trainees from all district hospitals and some community health centre are attending the training, stated a press release received here. The training resource person is Er Sudip Goswami, Superintendent of Central workshop, Government Medical College Agartala, Tripura. 

“Due to COVID-19 pandemic the requirement of PSA oxygen plants in all the hospitals have been felt and 28 PSA plant has been installed across the state. It is observed that skilled manpower is required to run the PSA plant and to address this, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland has started capacity building for operation and maintenance. This training will guide the health workers in all health facilities on proper management of equipment,” the release stated. 

“It may be noted that 10 hrs training was conducted by Ministry of Skill Development for 1-2 nurses and doctors from all District Hospitals and 180 hrs online training for biomedical engineers and engineers working in our Department on PSA Plant,” it added.
