Acknowledging the heavy patient load from Pfutsero and its surrounding villages, Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister H&FW, P Paiwang Konyak has committed to upgrade the Community Health Centre Pfutsero with essential manpower and infrastructure support.
The assurance came following his visit of the CHC Pfutsero while returning from Phek after inspecting Phek District Hospital on June 26
The Minister commended the health workers for their dedication in catering the large number of patients on a daily basis besides many challenges.
Following the visit, the minister assured to fill the gaps by providing an additional Medical Officer, procurement of X-ray and an ultrasound machine, construction of security fencing, repair and renovation in addition to a new block.
On way to Kohima, the Minister had a brief halt at the Integrated Ayush Hospital Razha, and paid a quick visit to the hospital and interacted with the patients.
While thanking the department officials and all the people involved in participating in the department state-wide tour the minister said that the tour was an eye-opening experience, shedding light on ground realities and that the department must continue to advance its initiatives, undeterred by the challenges that lie ahead.
It may be mentioned here that the Minister during his 2nd phase of statewide tour to Zunheboto and Phek district has announced various steps to be taken up soon in both district.
Key projects announced:
Zunheboto District
• On-going construction of District Hospital Zunheboto,
• Construction of flat type staff quarter
• Construction of Urban Public Health Centre
• Construction of Integrated Public Health Laboratory
• Construction of CMO building
• Establishment of nursing school
• 30 bedded Ayush hospital
• New PHC building at Pughoboto
• Construction of Satoi PHC
• Construction of Sukomi Sub Centre, Hebolimi Sub Centre, Hoshepu MO quarter, Satakha MO quarter and Xukhepu staff quarter.
Phek District
• Provide laparoscopic machine, ultrasound machine, ambulance and other essential healthcare services to strengthen medical infrastructure in District Hospital Phek.
• Provide an additional Medical Officer, procurement of X-ray and an ultrasound machine, construction of security fencing, repair and renovation and a new block in Pfutsero CHC
• Deputy additional Medical officer at Chozuba trauma centre
