The results of five legislators from Nagaland, who underwent tests for COVID-19 on July 14, after coming into contact with an infected person, have returned negative.

The legislators, four ministers and an advisor undertook the test after a driver assigned to one of them test positive for the virus on July 13. The particular driver, who tested positive, was reportedly assigned to one of the legislators who are currently in Delhi.

An official source told The Morung Express that the legislators received the results Wednesday morning.

As per existing protocol, however, legislators would be put up in a paid quarantine upon their return from New Delhi and may be tested again after seven days, the source said.

When contacted, an official at the Nagaland House New Delhi informed that there was “good news” but refrained from giving further details.

It was further informed that no new cases were reported from the Nagaland House on July 15.
