Toinali Chophi, Founder & CEO of ILIMI, and Beauty Barn India, in her keynote address shared about the inception of the brand and its journey so far.
The idea came about as she long prodded upon the reason why the Nagas have not created “our own brand in the personal care category, capable of competing in the global market space.”
She noticed a prevalent trend within the community towards relying on franchises, rather than cultivating home-grown brands with the potential to achieve global recognition.
With a long-held desire to create a brand of her own, and to shatter the glass ceiling, breaking limitations, ILIMI was finally born, marking a significant leap for the Naga community in the beauty industry.
With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and high-quality products, ILIMI aims to redefine the beauty experience and inspire confidence in every individual.
"I wanted to create a truly inclusive brand that welcomes everyone," the entrepreneur said.
The brand's commitment to community and collaboration is at the heart of its philosophy, aiming to offer more than just high-quality personal care products. Through its upcoming affiliate programs, Chophi said the brand seeks to provide paths to financial freedom, empowering its consumers to achieve more.
‘ILIMI,’a term in indigenous Sümi language translating to 'young girl,' is used to compliment women of all ages. To the founder, ILIMI signifies ‘youthfulness and timelessness.’
“It doesn't define a specific age or gender. It's about aging gracefully and maintaining a youthful spirit, irrespective of the age,” she maintained.
“This launch event marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and we are committed to empowering individuals to achieve their goals,” Chophi added.
