Nagaland joins Sardar@150 celebrations

Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports Advisor, S Keoshu Yimkhiung said that series of activities will take place across the state as part of the ongoing Sardar@150 celebrations.

Keoshu said that Unity March and other activities will be organised through the respective District Administrations, National Service Scheme and Mybharat.

“This year marks the momentous occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, fondly remembered as the Iron Man of India,” Keoshu said in his talk on ongoing Sardar@150 celebrations on Wednesday in Kohima.

A visionary statesman and architect of national integration, Sardar Patel played a crucial role in unifying over 560 princely states into one nation post-independence, he said.

To honour his enduring legacy and reinforce his ideals of unity, patriotism, and service, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India is holding Sardar@150 celebrations across the country.
A series of padyatra and events are being held to raise awareness among citizens especially the youth about Sardar Patel's contribution to the nation, he said.

Unity March, a nationwide movement, symbolizes collective resolve towards national unity and pays tribute to Sardar Patel's vision of a strong and united India.

Keoshu said that Nagaland state along with the rest of the country is organizing national-level competitions, providing a creative platform for young people to express patriotic sentiments and messages of unity.

These initiatives echo Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat, transforming the celebration into a dynamic and participatory movement rooted in the spirit of nation-building.

Unity March is meant to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's role in India's integration and mobilizing citizens - especially youth - towards a Viksit &Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The celebration witnesses competitions such as Essay Competition, Quiz Competition, National Reel Contest, Podcast and various activities through Mybharat Portal.
