Kohima, February 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) today appealed for understanding and peace following the February 7 incident at Litan village in Manipur.
The forum described the event as an unfortunate and careless act by a few individuals that caused widespread suffering and fear, emphasizing that such incidents could reopen old wounds and undermine communal harmony.
NJCF urged community leaders to rise above false narratives and appealed to all to choose peace over past bitterness, stressing that maintaining trust and brotherhood is essential for coexistence.
Citing the Apostle Paul, the forum said, “When one part of the body suffers, the whole body suffers,” calling on members of the majority Christian community to work towards reconciliation and prevent escalation of tensions.
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to fostering peace, communal harmony, and mutual understanding in the region.
