Jubilee Memorial College, Mokokchung celebrated the International Women’s Day at the college premises under the theme “I am generation equality: realizing women’s right” organized by the IQAC, JMC.
The event was celebrated by organizing various competitions which included debate competition, quiz competition and elocution competition. During the inaugural session, Imtitula, BA 6th semester spoke on women’s right in contemporary society while Limasenla Jamir, Asst. Prof. Department of sociology spoke on the day’s theme.
The topic for the debate was ‘Women’s empowerment: a myth in India’ and the theme for quiz competition was ‘Celebrating women’s achievements.’ The theme for the elocution competition was ‘celebrating women’s poetry’ under which the competitors had to recite ‘Still I rise’ and ‘Phenomenal Women’ by Maya Angelo.
The winners of the different competitions were acknowledged at valedictory session. Dr Merensangla, HOD, Department of Sociology and member IQAC, JMC acknowledged all participants and individuals who participated at the event in her vote of thanks.
