Kohima, July 11 (MExN): The All Nagaland Karate-Do Association (ANKA) today informed that players from the association bagged 9 medals in the 2nd Edition Kio Northeast Zone Karate Championship 2023 held in Shillong from July 8-9.
The medals included 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze.
Amecali Asummi bagged gold in 30 kg (Female) Kumite (Sparring) event while Huto K Yeptho won gold in 75 kg (Male) in the same event. Ilonica Assumi also bagged silver in 45 kg category.
The team was coached by Kasheto Yeptho while Tokali Awomi was the team manager. The Association team was led by officials Thsahthriba Sangtam, Rongsentemjen and T Lanu Imchen.
Meanwhile, T Sangtam Chief Engineer (PHED Nagaland), who is the President of ANKA & ISKF India, has congratulated T Lanu Imchen for being appointed as the Vice President of Karate India Organisation (KIO) North East Zone during its annual general body meeting held on July 7 in Shillong.
He also congratulated Rongsentemjen for passing his Referee exam (Grade A) as well as Akumienla L Imchen for passing her Judge (A) exam and passing Black belt 3rd Dan exam.
