TUENSANG, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): Khiamniungan Sports Council (KSC) were crowned champions of the Tuensang District Football Association Cup 2018 defeating Excel Naga FC at parade ground Tuensang on Thursday.
The final match was locked to a goal less draw at the full time. Eventually, the match advanced to a tie- break, which KSC won.
Meanwhile, Pisgah United FC bagged the best disciplined team award. The golden glove was awarded to Chiu of KSC, while the Golden Boot went to Bei of Excel Naga FC. Nungsang of Pisgah United bagged the Golden Ball. Speaking at the closing ceremony as special guest, Project Director DRDA Tuensang, Tsalito Sangtam, stressed on the importance of games and sports, and encouraged players to strive beyond district limits so as to bring laurel.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by S Nayang Chang while invocation was pronounced by Laipan APY, Phom Baptist Church Tuensang. Welcome address was delivered by convener, organizing committee while special number was presented by Livika Sumi. Vote of thanks was proposed by President TDFA. The TDFA Cup 2018 saw participation of 28 teams from across the district and 448 players with 43 matches in 13 days.
