
Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): Nagaland Kisan Congress (NKC) held it’s first ever meeting along with State, District and Block level office bearers at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur on July 25.
A press release issued by M Lepden Ao, Vice Chairman of NKC stated that the meeting was held under the leadership of V Lasuh, chairman NKC, who has been appointed by the Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
“The Chairman of All India Kisan Congress New Delhi has appointed Imlitemjen Ao as the Vice Chairman (Administration), Nepithe as the Vice Chairman (Secretary) and M Lepden Ao, Vice Chairman (Finance/ Enrolment) for Nagaland Kisan Congress,” it added.
The NKC chairman explained the importance of agriculture in Nagaland. He said that agriculture is the back bone of Nagaland and that 68% of the Nagaland population is dependent on the agriculture based income.
M Lepden Ao, Vice Chairman, informed all the State Coordinators to organize District level and Constituency level (Block Level) office bearers, and also to enroll Kisan members in all the Villages, for farmers which shall be open to all the communities and race living in Nagaland.
The All India Kisan Congress meeting which was held in New Delhi on July 17 was attended by State Chairman V Lasuh, District and Constituency office bearers. “Leadership also emphasized on agriculture based schemes, loans and subsidies. They also asked local farmers to market their agriculture products at the Agri-Expos’ held all over India,” NKC added in the release.
