Nagaland lands award for Khadi

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board has been named for the National Award 2009-2010 from among northeastern states for outstanding performance in implementing Khadi & Village Industries programmes in Nagaland. The nomination was communicated from the Khadi & Village Industries Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, the government said today. On behalf of the state and Nagaland khadi board, Chairman of the board Dr. Nicky Kire will receive the award in August. The ministry confers national awards every year for outstanding performance in implementing the Khadi programmes. The national award is to be presented by Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Sing at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
