
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 8 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, will be launching its State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on the 10th October 2011 at 11am in Central Training Institute (CTI), Toluvi, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. The occasion will be graced by the Chief Secretary Lalthara IAS as the Chief Guest while the DGP K.Kire, IPS and DG, Prison and Home Guards O. Alem, IPS will be Guest of Honors. The SDRF will be trained at the CTI by the Home Guards in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force, Guwahati. The SDRF has been drawn from five the five IRs namely the 9th/ 11th/12th/13th/14th IR. The first company to be trained has been drawn from the 9th IR ‘Alpha’ Company. The NSDMA aims to effectively train and equip the SDRF to face any disaster that may befall the state. One company will be trained each month and this training will continue till April next year.
