Nagaland launches IndusInd Health Mitra for PM-JAY and CMHIS beneficiaries

•    Platform offers video, audio consultations with doctors across India
•    Initiative aimed at improving healthcare access in remote areas
•    Service free for three months for PM-JAY and CMHIS beneficiaries

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS), in partnership with Reliance General Insurance Company Limited (RGICL), on December 16 launched IndusInd Health Mitra (IHM), a mobile- and web-based digital health consultation platform for beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS).

The service will be available free of cost for an initial period of three months to all eligible beneficiaries in the state.

The launch is aimed at improving access to quality healthcare, particularly for people living in remote and hard-to-reach areas. Through the platform, beneficiaries can consult qualified doctors and specialists from across the country via secure video and audio consultations, reducing the need for travel and physical hospital visits for routine medical advice.

According to a press release from the CEO, Nagaland Health Protection Society, Thavaseelan K, IndusInd Health Mitra has been designed to complement existing healthcare services by offering timely medical guidance, follow-up consultations and second opinions. The initiative is expected to promote early diagnosis, enable prompt medical intervention and help reduce avoidable hospital admissions.

Key features of the platform include access to medical advice in underserved areas, follow-up consultations supported by secure digital medical records, early diagnosis and access to a nationwide network of doctors and specialists.

The platform has been custom-designed for Nagaland and is developed, serviced and monitored by Purple Health Pvt Ltd.

Access to the application is restricted to eligible AB PM-JAY and CMHIS beneficiaries, who can log in using their scheme card and the mobile number registered with it. Beneficiaries with outdated or inaccessible mobile numbers have been advised to update their details at the nearest PMAM or CSC centre.

The initiative underscores the state government’s efforts to leverage digital technology for inclusive and citizen-centric healthcare delivery, the press release added.

The Indus Health Mitra app is available on Android and iOS platforms. For technical assistance, users may contact 8655027129.
