Nagaland line departments oriented on People’s Plan Campaign

Kohima, October 13 (MExN): One-day orientation training for line department nodal officers on People’s Plan Campaign on Gram Panchayat Development Plan for 2022-23 was held at the RD Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima on October 13.
In his keynote address, Neposo Theluo, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary stated that the purpose of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) is to avoid duplication of schemes where the different departments will be implementing their own schemes but the Ministry has directed to have a common planning body. Hence, in order to monitor whether things are going as per guidelines and activities, he shared the need for setting up of Village Planning and Facilitation Team/Gram Panchayat Planning Facilitation Team (GPPFT) for proper functioning of GPDP, stated a press release issued by K Neibou Sekhose, Joint Director & State Nodal Officer for GPDP, Rural Development.
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by K Neibou Sekhose, Joint Director RD & State Nodal Officer for GPDP. Introductory speech was given by Liboni Humtsoe, Director and a presentation on People’s Plan Campaign was given Imlisanen Aier, RDO. It concluded with a session of discussion and queries from the Departments present on the meeting.
Altogether, 23 officials including 14 from different line departments attended the training. Departments that attended the programme included School Education, Fisheries, PWD (R&B), Veterinary & A.H, PHED, Art & Culture, Forest, New & Renewable Energy, Minority Affairs, Agriculture, Industries, Women Resource, Food & Civil Supplies and Employment Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and SIRD.
It may be mentioned that the People’s Plan Campaign is an ongoing activity for GPDP which began on September 12 and will conclude on January 31, 2023. As per the Activity Calendar, orientation training for PDs and BDOs will be held on October 14.
