DC Phek notifies on counting of votes
The Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer, Phek C.M. Tsanglao has issued a notification in reference to the Election Commission of India letter NO.470/INST/2014-EPS dated March 20 and CEO letter NO. ELE/CDT-194/2014/ dated March 22, that counting may be taken up from 8:00 a.m. on April 16  for the 16th Lok Sabha Election 2014 in respect of Phek District.

Programmes on SVEEP and EVMs held at Phek
Systematic Voter Education and Election Participation (SVEEP) programme was held at Phek Government College on March 25. Nodal Officer, EAC (Dev.) Phek, Tiayanger Jamir exhorted the gathering and said that it is very important to share views in a democracy. He also requested the students to actively participate if one reached 18 years of age.

Raja Durai, Master Trainer demonstrated the functioning of EVM machines on how to cast votes. A debate on the topic “freedom of personal vote” was held between Phek Government College & Government Higher Secondary School, Phek. GHSS, Phek was the winner; best speaker was Weri Mero, PGC; best defender was Zhovezo Nienu. 
 
A short speech was delivered by Vekhruvo Khusoh, Campus Ambassador PGC and the programme was concluded by Khronyilo Lohe, Vice President (PGCSU).

Training for presiding and polling officers held at Pughoboto
Training for Presiding and Polling Officers was held on March 25 at the ADC office complex Pughoboto. While welcoming the Polling Personals present, Additional Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer (ADC & ARO), Nokchasashi urged upon the participants to extend cooperation to the district administration to ensure the conduct of the elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. The participants were given instructions by Master Trainers SDO (Civil) Er. Namang Sepong Chang and Teacher GHS Pughoboto, Nisheto. All the appointed polling personnels were the training. 

District election control room Mokokchung
In view of the Election to the Lok Sabha on April 9, the District Election Control Room has been set up at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mokokchung.  Any complain for redress, information or report relating to the Lok Sabha Election 2014 may be done through the given number: 0369-2225213, at any time, till the conduct of the election is over.

DC Mokokchung informs on training schedule
DC & ARO, Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso has said that there will be a one day training on March 29 at Town Hall, Mokokchung for all polling personnel (presiding officers/1st, 2nd & 3rd polling officers) of Mokokchung district, who have missed the training on 24th & 25th March 2014. Training will start from 10:00 a.m. The DC cautioned that failure to attend the training would be viewed seriously and that disciplinary action would be initiated. He further informed all grade IV staff drafted for election duty to report on March 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Town Hall along with 2 passport photographs.

EPIC card collection for Tuensang
The Deputy Commissioner & ARO, Tuensang has informed that all electors under 53 & 54 Tuensang Sadar I and II A/Cs can collect their EPIC Card (Voters ID Card) from their respective BLOs at the Polling Stations on March 29 and 30.

Training of presiding and 1st polling officer held
Training for polling officials comprising of presiding officers and 1st polling officers who were not present at the 1st and 2nd phase of training was held at town hall Zunheboto on March 26. More than 100 polling officers attended the meeting. The training for 2nd and 3rd polling officers will also be held on March 27.
