
18 Female Polling Parties deployed for Kohima
Altogether 18 Female Polling Groups are being detailed for Polling duty under Kohima district on 9th April 2014 including 7 Polling Stations under 8 - Western Angami A/C, 5 Polling Stations under 9 Kohima Town A/C, 2 under 10- Northern Angami -1 A/C, 2 Under 11 - Northern Angami - 11 A/C and 2 Polling Station under 14-Southern Angami – 1 A/C. 215 Polling Parties under Kohima district are being detailed for the Parliamentary Elections where approximately 300 Vehicles are also being dispatched for the same.
Departure of polling personnel
All the Polling Personal for 16th Lok Sabha General Election 2014 Peren District, has left for their polling duty. The EVM's was distributed to 117 Polling Station. With all 585 Polling Personal, 511 Security Force and 183 Vehicle has left for 6 Tening A/C and 7 Peren A/C Polling Stations.
Departure of election duty to respective election constitution
The respective Government Servants assigned for the Parliamentary election Duty departed from Tuensang Town Starting from 7th of April and 8th of April as per the distance of the Constituencies and the polling stations. 57th A/C Thononyu and 58th A/C Shamator Chessore moved earlier yesterday ie,on 7th and the rest A/C 51,53, 54,56 A/Cs Noksen, Longkhim Chari, Tuensang Sadar I, TuensangSadar II and Noklak A/Cs respectively departed today ie, 8th of March 2014.
Preparations in Mokokchung completed for polling
All arrangements in Mokokchung district have been put in place for conducting polling on 9th April 2014 in a fair and free manner. About 1100 polling personnel with security personnel on poll duty have reached their respective polling stations to conduct the polling in 218 polling stations in the district. Security measures have been geared up in the entire district to enable electors to cast their votes in an atmosphere of peace. A total of 133123 voters will exercise their franchise to elect their choice for the lone Nagaland LokSabha seat. Live webcasting facility has been put in place in 10 polling stations covering 25, 26 and 27 Assembly constituencies on the basis of internet connectivity.

Joining with the rest of district in the state Kiphire district will go for poll for the lone LokSabha seat in the state to elect the new Member of Parliament (MP - India) on 9th April to represent the state of Nagaland to the largest democratic country in the world.

Kiphire District Election Machinery has appointed 450 polling personnel for the 96 polling station in the district, including 96 presiding officers, 96 1st polling officers, 96 2nd polling officers 66 3rd polling officers, 96 4th grade personnel and 125 polling personnel were kept as reserved.
Kiphire district has two Assembly constituencies, 59th Sitime /Secyochung A/C and 60th Pungro/ Kiphire A/C, out of 96 polling stations the district election machinery has declared 84 P/S as normal and 12 as critical P/S of which Four (4) at 59th Sitime /Secyochung A/C and Eight (8) at 60th Pungro/ Kiphire A/C.
Kiphire District Election Machinery has divided the district into Nine (9) sectors for an elaborate security arrangement for both normal and critical polling station and has appointed Nine (9) each sector magistrate and micro observers, further one section of static security force is station in all the nine (9) sectors and one platoon striking force each is being station at Pungro Sub-Division HQ and Secyochung Sub- Division HQ and the 46th Assam Rifles will provide environmental security.
Assistant Election officer (ARO) & DC Kiphire NeposoTheluo said despite the limited resources available, the district election machinery is trying its best to manage the election process in the district and has express his confidence that law and order situation in the district is conducive for the conduct of free and fair election.
While speaking on the polling personnel who were being dispatch to different polling stations in the district after providing sufficient training, Neposo said, that polling personnel would do justice to the training provided to them as the district completely depend on them for smooth conduct of election process.
Commenting on activities of various political parties in the district ARO& DC NeposoTheluo said so far Election Machinery of Kiphire district has not come across any violation of election model code of conduct by any political party within the district and added that the unenthusiastic activities in the district maybe due to setting-up of various committee as a watchdog by district election machinery to conduct free and fair electioneering process coupled with a series of meeting were being conducted by DEM with NGO’s & political parties to ensure peaceful conduct of election and to create awareness amongst the masses for clean, free and fair election process the DEM has also initiated programme on Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) throughout the district, whereby, college students of the district were appointed as campus ambassadors to create awareness, he added.

ADC Pughoboto instructs reserved officers to report
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) & Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Pughoboto Nokchasashi has informed that all the Polling Personnel whose name did not appeared in the Polling Station allotment will remain as Reserved. Hence they are directed to be present at Additional Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer's Office on 8th and 9th April 2014 at 7:00 a.m. sharp.
