Wokha, September 9 (MExN): Lotha Hoho and Lotha Students Union organized a felicitation programme to honour Richard Yanthan, IAS who recently cleared the most prestigious civil services examination in the country conducted by the UPSE 2019 who secured 133 rank. 

The function was held at Don Bosco Youth Centre Wokha on September 8, informed a DIPR report. 

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Minister In-charge for Home and R&B, Y Patton, speaking during the function congratulated R Yanthan, IAS for bringing laurels to the community, which he termed it as a proud moment for the people of Nagas in general and Lotha community in particular. Patton also said, being on the of the youngest ISA officers in the State, we have a strong conviction in him that he will bring a paradigm shift to the society as he serves the Nation as well as the Nagas in particular. Patton also announced during the programme that under LADP (Common Pool) logistic support will be given to the aspirant students undergoing coaching at IAS, ALS coaching centre, Wokha.

It is a momentous day for all of us and a long awaited dream coming true after so many years, said Advisor for Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan and wished him success as he begins a journey of many challenges and big tasks.

MLA, Dr Chumben while congratulating Richard Yanthan Murry urged him to be the ambassador of the Nags as he embarks on with a higher responsibility. He also appealed to the youngsters to look upon the good example set by Yanthan so that they become successful persons in life.

Richard Yanthan, IAS while sharing his experiences during the felicitation programme attributed his success to the Almighty and the constant prayer and support from family members and friends. While speaking to the young aspirants he urged them to work hard and continue to seek Lord’s blessing in all that they do. He also called upon the youngsters to be dedicated and sincere so that in the coming days many more will make it to the civil services and set examples for others to follow.

Chairman Lotha Hoho, Mhondamo Ovung, also congratulated Richard for bring laurels to the Lotha community and also wished him good health and wisdom as he takes up higher responsibilities to serve the people with humanity and humbleness.
