Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): Nagaland team today debuted in the shorter version of cricket with their opening encounter against Jammmu and Kashmir at the ongoing senior men's premier Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
However, it was not as memorable debut for the team as they lost the match by 9 wickets.
Nagaland were put to bat first after their skipper Jonathan Rongsen lost the toss.

After a poor start, the team managed to score a respectable 136 for 6 in 20 overs.
KB Pawan lead the score with 53 runs, followed by captain Jonathan at 31.
In reply, the J&K team, boosted by presence to two Indian Team players – Skipper Parvez Rasool and Irfan Pathan in the lineup, reached the target in 15.5 overs losing just a single wicket.
Tahmeed Rahman took the only wicket for Nagaland.
The team is scheduled to play another five matches at the ongoing tournament and the next encounter is against Andhra Pradesh next on February 22.
