Nagaland media and IPR exposure visit to Sikkim

Media persons from Nagaland along with the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) team conducted an interaction programme with the Sikkim Press Club (SPC) and Sikkim DIO officials at the Hotel Mount Japuno, Gangtok on Saturday.

The 14 member team from Nagaland are on a weeklong ‘media exposure trip’ to Sikkim from May 20 to 26.
To begin the interaction, SPC President, Shekhar Khwas welcomed all members and gave a brief introduction on the media scenario in Sikkim. This was followed by exchange of ideas and thoughts on various issues between the journalists of both the states.

Deputy Director, IPR, Siewatho Nyusou who led the Nagaland team, in his brief message highlighted the similarities between Sikkim and Nagaland and acknowledged SPC for their warm welcome. He also noted that similar interactions should be fostered between the other states as well in order to foster good relations within and without the north eastern region.

IPR officials along with Nagaland media team will be visiting Nathula pass and also visit several tourists places at North Sikkim during the tour.
