Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): Nagaland Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir called on Rajya Sabha MP P Chidambaram at his official residence in Delhi on July 1.
The communication department of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee in a press release stated that having held the charge of almost all the important portfolios in the Union Ministry, including Finance and Home Ministries under Prime Ministers starting from late PV Narasimha Rao to Dr Manmohan Singh, ‘the Rajya Sabha MP’s in depth knowledge about the fiscal and socio-political history of Nagaland was clearly visible during their insightful interaction.’
Chidambaram was also the Chairperson of the Congress Party's Manifesto Committee for the 2024 General Elections and was instrumental in the inclusion of the Naga Political Solution clause in the said manifesto, the NPCC press release added.
