
Kohima, October 17 (MExN): The Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) launched on October 3, is being implemented in Kohima with a work force team from the Chief Medical Officer staff, led by Dr. Rupert Peseyie, DPO (UIP-RCH), the district administration led by the Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS and the allied Departments viz. Social Welfare and School Education.
The district team has vaccinated 38558 with 61.18% of the total target as of October 16, in which 1216 is outreach activity of October 16.
A press release from CMO office, Kohima, District Media officer, Kungcham Dailiam said that there were certain areas resistant to the vaccination campaign. In these areas intensive one-on-one meetings are being conducted to reach out to the people. Citing that, it was major task to reach out to each and every child from 9 months to 15 years of age. In this regard, the Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr. Ritu Thurr, thanked the allied departments, communities especially ward chairman, youth leaders and parents for relentlessly supporting the medical department in vaccinating the target children.
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ritu Thurr, has called upon the public in general for their support for the success of the campaign.
