Tenyimi Market Complex inauguration today

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): The Tenyimi Market Complex, near Tragopan Hotel in Dimapur will be dedicated by Rev. Miazielie Sakhrie in the presence of the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on July 21. Highlights of the programme include welcome address and presidential speech by president TUD, cultural dance by Rongmei Union Dimapur, folk song by Western Chakheshang Hoho, exhortation by Chief Minister.  

Kohima Police nabs habitual thief

Kohima, July 20 (MExN): The Kohima Police arrested one habitual thief identified as Avizo Tetseo from Oking Hospital. A release from Addl. Superintendent of Police & PRO, Kohima said that the accused was caught stealing cash and belongings from patient attendant in the hospital. An interrogation revealed that he was involved in two cases in connections with Kohima North PS case No. 0007/2017 for snatching of mobile phone from college students near Local Ground area, Kohima and another case (No. 0011/2017) for stealing LPG Gas cylinders from NST area, Kohima. The arrested person has been taken into custody and a case registered at Kohima North PS.  

Body found in Dimapur

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): Body of a non-Naga male aged around 50 years was found at NST Bus Station, Dimapur near the main entrance gate on July 19. Barefooted, he was wearing a white vest and a blue printed short, informed a press release from PRO, Dimapur Police. “No injury mark has been found during preliminary inquiry and is suspected that the deceased was a beggar and might have died due to starvation or illness,” it added. After obtaining all legal formalities the deceased was shifted to Civil Hospital Morgue for post-mortem examination and identification. Claimant of the dead body or relatives and friends have been requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, East Police Station.  

Crack down on traffic violation to begin in Kohima

Kohima, July 20 (MExN): In order to crack down on traffic violation, Kohima Traffic Police will be carrying out checking of all vehicular documents, including driving without insurance (two wheeler/car), riding without helmet/more than one pillion rider, driving without permit, outside state registration, and displaying ‘Applied For’ with effect from July 30. Violation of traffic rules will lead to punishment and penalty can be fine or even imprisonment, cautioned a press release from Additional Superintendent of Police & PRO, Kohima. Therefore, all vehicles’ owners have been directed to keep their relevant vehicle documents with them to avoid penalties as per relevant provision of MV Act 1988.  

Assam Rifles apprehend two

Kohima, July 20 (MExN): Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended two people during a search operation in Mohankhola launched along with a police representative on July 18. A press release from Major L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) has identified the two as Umesh Kumar (19) and Ramesh Kumar (21), both from Bihar. One extortion slip of NSCN (IM) and two extortion slips of FGN were recovered from the apprehended persons. The two along with the recovered items were handed over to South Police Station, Kohima for further investigation, it added.  

Technical Education dept informs computer institutes

Kohima, July 20 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education has notified to all the training institutes/centres running computer software/hardware courses and all IT related courses that any training institute/centre found awarding Diploma certificate without the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, and with training duration less than 3 years shall not be granted further extension to run the institute and the students obtaining certificates from such institute shall be treated as fake. Training duration less than 3 years can use the word ‘certificate course’ and not as diploma, the notifications said, according to a DIPR report.
