K Badze BSUP beneficiaries asked to occupy flats within Aug 24

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): All the BSUP beneficiaries of K Badze, Kohima who have been selected by the 42 Sector Committee have been notified to occupy the flats within August 24. Dr Toshimanen Ozukum, HoD, Directorate of Municipal Affairs, Kohima in a release has also directed the beneficiaries to meet the in-charge at the Directorate office during office hours to complete necessary formalities. “If the selected beneficiaries do not occupy the flats within the specific period, it will be allotted to the EWS applicants in the wait list and the Directorate shall not entertain any complaint whatsoever,” the release also informed.  

NU alumni asked to register on university website

Lumami, August 11 (MExN): Dr. Neizo Puro, Asst. Professor, Department of Botany, NU & In-charge, Nagaland University Alumni has requested all alumni of Nagaland University to register their names and details in the University webpage. Informing this in a press release, NU PRO Peter Ki stated that although a few alumni have already registered themselves online, the majority of the alumni are yet to do so. “The aim of this initiative is to help the University connect better with the alumni and also keep them updated about the progress of their alma mater,” the release said. It hoped that the initiative will create avenues for the alumni to come forward to help the University grow to its fullest potential. Planning & Coordination Department constitutes board

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The Planning & Coordination Department has informed that the Government of Nagaland has constituted Public Grievance Cell and Women Helpline Board consisting of the following members for State Planning Machinery, Planning & Coordination Department: Opangtula Sangtam, JDC - Convener and Chairperson; Watisangla, APO - member secretary; and N Joory, ADC, Vilhouhuno, PO and Benjongtula, APO - members, a press release informed. The above board has been constituted in compliance with the AHODs/HODs meeting held on April 3. It will look into all public grievances and provide helpline to women pertaining to State Planning Machinery and Planning & Coordination Department. The board members will remain valid till further order, the release further stated.  

Tuensang-Mkg road opens for light vehicles

Tuensang, August 11 (MExN): The road that connects Tuensang and Mokokchung districts was open for light vehicles on August 11 evening, according to a press release from Personal Secretary (PS) to Minister CM Chang. This was made possible with the intervention of CM Chang, the Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Parliamentary Affairs, it said. The press release mentioned that the monsoon fury took toil on the citizens of Noksen village under Tuensang district when the road to Noksen SDO (Civil) block in Tuensang was cut off for more than three weeks. The landslide was said to have occurred in eight places in the single stretch. Further, it alleged that the SDO of Public Works Department (R&B) of Noksen subdivision and the Section Officer was said to have never attended the office since their joining.

 

Governor designates officers in Planning & Coordination dept

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): In pursuance of Section 5(1) and (2) of the Right to Information Act 2005, the Governor of Nagaland has designated officers for performing functions in respect of Planning & Co-ordination Department. The governor has designated Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, Development Commissioner as First Appellate Authority (FAA), Nosazol Charles, Addl. Development Commissioner as Public Information Officer (PIO) and Opangtula, Joint Development Commissioner as Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO).  

BVC to undertake verification drive

Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): The Bade Village Council (BVC) has informed that the BVC along with Bade Youth Organisation (BYO) will be undertaking verification drive under its jurisdiction. “Any non-local without proper certified documents will not be allowed to reside within the village jurisdiction,” a release from the Chairman Kiesalie Thopi and Secretary Lhikhro Kreo, BVC informed. Further, the Council informed that, in future, all landowners desiring to keep new tenants, coolie or workers to register with the village authorities without which, they will not be allowed to stay in the village. “As such, any dispute or cases arising out of non-registration will be borne by the landowners,” it cautioned. “This exercise has become necessary to check the flow of illegal immigrants,” the council pointed and further requested all landowners to co-operate with the village authorities in this regard.  

Commissioner of state taxes notifies on GST

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The Commissioner of State Taxes has extended the time limit for furnishing the return by an Input Service Distributor in FORM GSTR-6 under Sub-section (4) of Section 39 of the Nagaland Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 from July 2017 to August 2018 till September 30, 2018.  

AIFFSO observes 76th Quit India Movement

Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): The office bearers and members of the All India Freedom Fighters & Successors Organization of Nagaland State Unit observed the 76th Quit India Movement. During the observation, the organization maintained two minutes silence in honour of the national heroes on the August 8 along with the well wishers.  

APO deliberating on ILP & NRC

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO), “on the burning issues of Inner Line Permit, illegal immigrants and NRC,” APO President Dr Kepelhusie Terhüja, and Secretary, Information and Publicity Neithono Sothu in a press release stated that having a sustained discussion as to arrive at a determined action by the people and all its organizations keeping in view that the thrust of action comes from the people. The APO has also urged the Department of Health and Family Welfare to strictly adhere to the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006 and Rules and Regulations 2011 while carrying out this mammoth task. While appreciating the department for taking up proactive initiatives to provide food safety for the citizens of the state, it also assured the department for support and assistance at any point of time.
