
CNC appeals prayer for Kerala
Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has requested people of Nagaland to hold prayer during Sunday Worship Service on August 26 for the people of Kerala who are facing untold miseries from devastating rains and floods. “Prayer for the people in miseries in a time of such severe calamity is a bounden duty of Christians who fear God and love the souls in disaster,” President Eustar Chishi Swu and Rev Seksim Kasar, General Secretary, CNC in a release maintained. The CNC, through the release has requested prayer for the consolation of the people who lost their dear ones; people who are rendered homeless; proper resettlement of the affected people; for the rescue and relieve workers; for the rulers of Kerala and India to be able to tackle the crisis properly; for the possible outbreak of diseases after the flood and for the health and medical workers.
Muslim Council Dmp, DDCF extend Eid greetings
Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Muslim Council Dimapur has extended Eid greetings on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha celebrated by Muslims all over the world. A. Rahman, Working President of the Council expressed “hope for this festival of prayer and sacrifice to bring a new era of peace and prosperity among all citizens of Nagaland.” It also informed all Muslims in Dimapur to kindly see that while celebrating the festival, “the sentiments of other people are not hurt.” The Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF) while extending greetings to all the Muslims on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha hoped that the celebration will “bring a new dimension of peace n tranquility among all the citizens of Dimapur,” Joseph lemtur, President said in a release.
Kohima Police seize IMFL
Kohima, August 21 (Mexn): Kohima Police personnel while conducting MVCP at Tsiesema village on August 20 intercepted one Tata mobile, bearing registration number, NL07A-6445 and recovered 260 cases of IMFL comprising of 246 cases of rum, 12 cases of cane beer and 2 cases of whiskey. The driver, identified as Umesh Prasad (36) and Lajol Muslim (26) were arrested, PRO, Kohima Police informed in a release. Accordingly, a case was registered against the arrested persons under NLPT Act for further investigation.
CM consultative meeting for Hornbill Festival
Kohima, August 21 (MExN): The Tourism Department has informed that Chief Minister Nephiu Rio will hold a consultative meeting with all sectoral and line departments and stakeholders required to be involved in the celebration of Hornbill Festival. A DIPR report informed that the meeting will be held on August 23 at 4:00 pm at his residential office.
Bike recovered
Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (R) through an MIP has informed that a platina bike bearing Chassis no MD2A76AZOFRA1922810 and Engine no: PF521022MF2 was recovered by the UT1 of NSCN/GPRN (R). The rightful owner has been informed to collect the same by producing genuine documents from the office of the Supervisor, UT1 within seven days from the publication of this notice. Further, no claim shall be entertained after the expiry of the dateline. The MIP further informed that the Supervisor UT1, Khekato Kinny can be reached at 09862746031.
