
WASU supports memo on Naginimora road
Mon, August 22 (MExN): Wakching Area Students’ Union (WASU) has extended solidarity over the memorandum submitted by Konyak Union (KU), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), Naginimora Konyak Students Union (NKSU) of Naginimora unit against the poor road conditions of Naginimora town (sub-division). In a statement issued by its president, Chinge M Konyak, WASU reminded and appealed to the State government and concerned department (PWD, R&B) to “take the matter into utmost concern and priorities as the said road has been neglected for the past two decades.”
SNUNS ‘Motivation Day’ on Aug 25
Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) is organizing a special ‘Motivation Day’ for the South Naga students (Class X and XII) of all Dimapur based schools on August 25 at DBiDL Training Centre, Don Bosco Dimapur complex. The union in a press release has requested the parents of South Naga students of class X & XII (both NBSE & CBSE) to send their children to the programme. Meanwhile, it advised the students to keep to their respective school schedules, adding “attend only if the school is on Saturday holiday.” Registration (Rs. 100 per student) begins at 9:00 am on the day. Tamlu BJP workers to erect monolith in honour of Vajpayee
Longleng, August 22 (MExN): The 49 Tamlu A/C BJP workers have decided to erect monolith in honour of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. L Shaupen Phom, State Council Member in a press release stated that Minister S. Pangnyu Phom and Minister and State BJP President, Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along Ao will grace the event on December 25, 2018 to mark the 94th birth anniversary of Late Atal Vajpayee. All the BJP workers of Nagaland have been requested to extend moral support for the commemoration of the event.
Peren observes Sadbhavan Diwas
Peren, August 22 (MExN): Peren district observed ‘Sadbhavan Diwas’ on August 20 at Deputy Commissioner’s office, New Headquarter, Peren. A DIPR report stated that ADC Peren, Sarita Yadav, IAS, administered the pledge to the officers and staff. She also briefed on the significance of the day as the nation remembered former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

KVC reiterates on sale of land
Kohima, August 22 (MExN): The Kezoma Village Council has reiterated its earlier resolution that no member of Kezoma village shall “sabotage the development works under its jurisdiction.” It also prohibited selling land to outsiders. Puhovi Tase, Chairman, KVC in a press release stated that defaulters with be strictly dealt with. It, however, informed those persons who have already purchased land from any member of the village on or before February 26, 2016 to report and register their names to the village council before December 20, 2018. It warned that failing to comply with the order, the land will be seized by KVC.
