NSF clarifies on Naga club meeting
Kohima, August 27 (MExN): The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has clarified on a press release that appeared in the local dailies on August 27 regarding a meeting called by the Naga Club on August 29 at Red Cross Complex where NSF was to be an invitee for the meeting to deliberate on the Centenary Celebration of Naga Club. NSF General Secretary Imtiyapang Imsong in a release has clarified that the office was “not intimated for the said meeting as invitee nor the NSF was solicited for the meeting.”
Rio congratulates Conrad Sangma
Kohima, August 27 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has congratulated Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People's Party (NPP) President Conrad Sangma who won the South Tura by-election with a margin of 8421 votes. In a message addressed to Sangma, Rio said, “Your stunning victory is proof of the people’s belief in your leadership and I wish you all success as you steer the State of Meghalaya to greater development and prosperity. I look forward to working together with you in common issues that concern our respective states in particular and the Northeastern region in general.”
PMEGP interview for Mon District
Mon, August 27 (MExN): The interview for selection of PMEGP beneficiaries during 2018-19 for DIC and NKVIB under Mon district will be conducted at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Mon. Thavaseelan K (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, in a release informed that the interview for DIC will be tentatively conducted on August 30 and 31 for NKVIB, 10:00 am onwards. All applicants are further informed to produce original documents during the interview without which their candidature will not be entertained.
Kohima based colleges endorse ANCSU demands
Kohima, August 27 (MExN): The 14 Kohima-based colleges affiliated to All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) have extended its support to ANSCU over the demands submitted to the state government on August 10. Executive members from Kohima based colleges in a press release stated that while the Kohima based college students does not intent to hurt the sentiments of individual, organisations or groups, it extended its gratefulness to the government for assuring to address the demands and grievances of the students. “We hope that the state government will implement and initiate steps to bring a positive conclusion of the demands and grievances faced by the students,” the release further maintained.
