Rural libraries asked to collect books

Kohima, August 30 (MExN): District Cultural Officer, Kohima have informed registered rural libraries under Kohima district, those who have not collected books for the year 2017-18 and backlogs of previous years to come and collect it from the Directorate of Art and Culture during office hours within 30 days. Peihau Nsarangbe, DCO, Kohima, served a press release on August 30 as a final notice, failing which, the registered libraries will be deemed non-functional and liable to be delisted.  

DEO Dimapur informs for Teachers’ Day

Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): Dimapur District Common Teachers’ Day Programme will be organized on September 5, 2:00 pm at Covenant Hall, Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. Deputy Commissioner Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS has will be the special guest for the occasion, a press release from DEO, Dimapur informed. All the Head of government and private institutions have been informed to attend the said function along with 20 students and teachers positively.  

AR apprehends NSCN (R) cadres

Kohima, August 30 (MexN): Based on specific information, Assam Rifles, Kohima Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an operation at Jail Colony, Kohima along with a Police representative on August 29, Maj L Vincent Patton, PRO, IGAR (N) in a release informed. Two NSCN (R) cadres, identified as Captain Akhe Chokhe (40), and 2nd Lieutenant Kesheyi Rsakso (38) were apprehended during the operation. The apprehended persons during spot questioning revealed that they have been carrying out extortion at various shops in Jail colony. They were handed over to South PS, Kohima for further investigation.  

DSE informs on Swachhta Pakhwada Program

Kohima, August 30 (MExN): Department of School Education has informed schools that it will be organizing a fortnight program on implementation of Swachhta Pakhwada (Cleanliness and Sanitation) program in the State in conformity with the directive of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS) from September 1-15 in all schools and educational institutions. Director Wonthungo Tsopoe, in a press release informed that various competitions like toilet cleaning, painting and essay writing with prize money and certificates will be given to the winners. The fortnight long program will features other activities like handwash, meeting with SMCs and parents, planting of locally available saplings in the school premises, awareness on water-borne disease to promote safe drinking water and implementing simple water harvesting structures in schools. The last day will also launch ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa (SHS)’ Campaign, the release also stated.  

AG Lotha Church conducts seminar

Kohima, August 30 (MExN): The Assembly of God Lotha Church, Kohima organized a seminar on health awareness, fulfilling marriage and talent in action under the Women Department on August 25 at the church’s premise. The resource persons were Dr Ekonthung (Dannise Mozhui) and Meribini Zares Ezung, a release informed. The programme was chaired by Renpeni Kikon, Pastor incharge, Women Department. More than 70 members attended the seminar.  

Medziphema Ward 8 condemns murder

Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): The residents of Loliba Colony, Ward- 8, Medziphema town has condemned the act of Zuma Uddin and has requested the authority to take punitive measures accordingly without granting any kind of bail whatsoever. A release appended by Kedokhotuo Seyie, Secretary, Sanilhu Salhü, Chairman and Rokovitso Kuotsu, GB, Ward-8, Medziphema town meanwhile, lauded the Nagaland Police and concerned authorities for nabbing the main culprit in relation to the murder of a woman from the colony. The house, in a meeting on August 28, affirmed to abide by the rules and regulations of the colony, in accordance to the Naga customary laws whereby perpetrators of such crimes and their kins will not be allowed to reside in the area.  

CMO, Phek informs on DMB

Phek, August 30 (MExN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Phek has informed all the HODs of Phek District that there will be District Medical Board for confirmation of service/invalidation/commutation of pension after medical examination for pensioners (Grade III and IV) on September 12 , 10:00 am at Chief Medical Office, Phek. Kutolu Nakro, District Media officer Phek has informed all head of departments to send the list to the undersigned on or before September 5.
