
NSF 3rd phase initiative on ILP defaulters
Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) as part of its 3rd Phase Initiative on checking of ILP defaulters and influx of Illegal Immigrants will be organizing a public gathering for a demand to include Dimapur district within the purview of ILP, on September 14, City Tower, Dimapur at 11:00 am. A press statement by Imtiyapang Imsong, General Secretary, NSF has called upon all concerned citizens and public to extend support and co-operation towards the proposed gathering.
The Indigenous Naga supports NSF rally
Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): The Indigenous Naga (TIN) today conveyed its support to Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) peaceful rally scheduled at City Tower, Dimapur on September 14. The TIN Media Cell in a press release has appealed to all right thinking indigenous Naga citizens of various organizations to boldly come forward in support of the demand on ILP regulations in Nagaland. It also appealed to the government to bring Dimapur district under ILP. “The government must take necessary measures for the safety and security of its citizens,” it added.
NFHRCC clarifies
Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): Regarding the news item ‘Putting in all efforts for foothill road to become reality: NFHRCC’ published in The Morung Express on September 13 issue, the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has clarified that the name of contractor constructing the bridge is M/s Phukato Shohe & Sons. The meeting with the firm was held on September 1 and not as rendered, the NFHRCC clarified.
JD (U) Nagaland to commemorate birth anniversary of JPN on Oct 13
Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): The JD (U) Nagaland convened a consultative meeting on September 13 at Ura Hotel, Kohima to discuss the commemoration of the 130th birth anniversary of Jaya Prakash Narayan on October 11 at Dimapur under the aegis of the Jaya Prakash Narayan (JPN) Trust. The Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh has consented to be the guest. In a press release, Media Cell JD (U) Nagaland proposed to commemorate the event by awarding three renowned personalities in the field of peace and socio-political service to the Naga society. A search committee has been set up to shortlist the awardees, taking into consideration their immense contribution in socio-political aspect of the society. The members further resolved to initiate humanitarian service by extending any possible help to Kiphire and other severely affected areas by calamities.
CSU consultative meeting
Kohima, September 13 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) has convened a consultative meeting on September 19 at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima at 3:00 pm with all the apex frontal organizations- Chakhesang Public Organization, Chakhesang Youth Front, and Chakhesang Mothers' Association, leaders, former presidents and officials of CSU. P&AR Pension Adalat on Sept 18
Kohima, September 13 (MExN): P&AR Department in collaboration with Accountant General’s Office will be conducting a one day Pension Adalat on September 18 at 11:00 am at Accountant General’s Office, for redressal of pension grievances. According to a circular by Abhishek Singh (IAS) Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, any Department having pending cases, where objections/clarifications have been raised by Accountant General’s Office, are advised to settle cases through the Nodal Officers during the Pension Adalat. Pensioners having grievances with regard to fixation of pension, revision of pension, or any other pension benefits can attend the Pension Adalat and settle their grievances. If the pensioner is unable to attend, he/she can send a representative to plead his/her case. The pensioner or his/her representative must bring the original PPO Book. In the absence of the original PPO Book, pension grievances will not be redressed.
Seminar on ‘oral hygiene’ held
Tuensang, September 13 (MExN): The Sao Chang (Government) College, Tuensang conducted a seminar on ‘Oral Hygiene’ at the College Auditorium on September 4. Dr. Pfukrolo Koza, MDS, District Hospital, Tuensang, the resource person for the session advised the gathering to maintain strict oral hygiene for a healthy life and also emphasized on the need to take care of one's own teeth as “it is more precious than diamond.” The seminar was organised by the Educational, Research, Innovation & Consultancy Cell of the college. It was chaired by Dr. Iris Odyuo, Associate Professor, Department of History while vote of thanks was pronounced by Dr. Kenilo Kath Assistant Professor, Department of History.
