NDPP visit fire incident sites in Mkg

Mokokchung, September 18 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) office bearers of 26 Aonglenden AC along with Aosungkum and N. Akok Lkr PS to Imtikumzuk, Advisor of Sericulture & Excise visited the fire incident sites at Sangtemla and Marepkong ward, Mokokchung on September 18. A press communiqué from the party stated that the team shared solidarity with the effected families and donated monetary assistance to the affected families.  

Ao Senden appeals to district admin

Mokokchung, September 18 (MExN): The Ao Senden, Mokokchung has expressed solidarity to the recent fire victims of Mokokchung town. Meanwhile, Ao Senden in a press release issued by Chubawati Longchar,Vice President and Imtipokyim, Secretary has also appealed the District Administration to dispense all possible necessary help to the victimized families.  

One held with arms and drugs

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBeR 18 (MExN): The Assam Rifles (AR) apprehended one person with arms in Longleng on September 17. As per a press release from the AR PRO, the arrested person identified as Mulong Phom (40 years), a Leacy in the GPRN/NSCN, was arrested during a search operation conducted by a combined team of AR, Army and police personnel from a house “in general area Longleng.” While stating that the operation was launched based “on specific input,” the release said that the security personnel recovered one 9mm revolver with one round and 56 Nitrosun tablets from the individual. It added that the individual alongwith the recovered arms and drugs were handed over to the police for further investigation.  

NSDF condemns rape of minor

Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF) has condemned the rape of an 11-year-old minor on September 9. “We demand that the case is fast-tracked and befitting punishment handed out to the alleged criminal. Nothing can ever compensate the trauma faced by the young victim, but the State Government must also provide some succor in the form of speedy compensation to the survivor and her family,” a condemnation note from President Kezhaleto Zecho and Secretary Ashe H Kiba stated. It further noted that the case highlights the “vulnerability of women and girls with disability, especially women and girls with intellectual disability, to rape and sexual abuse.”It further urged the State Government to immediately notify the State Disability Rules and begin the full implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 (RPWD Act 2016) in the state.
