Pochury Hoho condemns alleged rape

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 10 (MExN): The Pochury Hoho today condemned an alleged rape of a minor by her father in Meluri Town on the night of October 9. A press note from the Pochury Hoho President, Chulekhu said that “there is no place in our land for this kind of abominable act.” It urged the concerned authorities to issue “non bailable stricture” and enforce severe punishment on the accused.  

Minister Paiwang expresses condolence

Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): Paiwang Konyak, Minister Transport & Civil Aviation, Land Resources, Nagaland in a condolence message expressed shock and sadness on the demise of Y. Zhimoto, Road Safety and Enforcement Officer (R.S.E.0) who expired on October 8 at Dimapur. The untimely demise of Y. Zhimoto, who was recently promoted to Road Safety and Enforcement Officer is very unfortunate, stated a release, adding that the department had lost a very dedicated and sincere Officer of his rank. The service he rendered to the Department of Transport will always be cherished and remembered, the Minister added. The Minister further regretted his inability to attend the funeral of the departed due to official engagement and conveyed its deepest condolences and prayed that the Almighty God grant solace and comfort to the bereaved family and the departed soul to rest in peace.  

NSCN (IM) condoles demise of member

Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has condoled the sudden and untimely demise of (L) Pangmiyao Shimrang, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Office, GPRN, s/o Phungreiyo Shimrang on October 10 from Somdal village under Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR). He enrolled in the National Service on January 15, 2003. In a condolence message issued by the MIP, he was a staff of the MIP for many years and was found to be noble and diligent who served the nation whole-heartedly until his demise. It further stated that the nation has lost a promising and young national worker today. His name shall be recorded and his sacrifice for the Naga cause shall be honored. The NSCN (IM) conveyed its condolences to his bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant eternal peace and rest to the departed soul.  

CNTC offers condolence for Late Thakkar

Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has expressed its sadness over the demise of Natwar Thakkar, an eminent Gandhian and a Padmashree awardee. “His selfless service throughout his life for the society and his core Gandhian principles made people call him Nagaland’s Gandhi. His humanitarian work towards the upliftment for lower strata of the people will be always fondly cherished in the memories by the Nagas,” a condolence note from CNTC Media Cell stated. The CNTC further conveyed it condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty give them comfort in this hour of grief.
