Stop unauthorized use of govt vehicles: Transport Dept
Kohima, October 13 (MExN): The Transport Department, Government of Nagaland has issued a circular on October 3 on unauthorized/illegal use of government vehicles. The circular stated that government vehicles attached to officials for the sole purpose of performing government duties are driven around by children/unauthorized persons undermining the purpose. All the officials provided with government vehicles are directed to prevent the use of government vehicles by children/unauthorized persons and the concerned official will be held responsible if found guilty.
JYO issues various directives
Jotsoma, October 13 (MExN): The Jotsoma Youth Organization (JYO) has issued a circular to visitors to refrain from various activities like hunting, fishing, washing of clothes and vehicles, plucking of flowers, wild vegetation and collecting of wood/ firewood, dumping of garbage/ waste under its jurisdiction. It further stated that rearing of goats and dogs must be restricted to the confines of the home. A circular issued by the President and Press Secretary stated that the above mentioned directives are maintained with utmost sincerity in order to safeguard common interest.
BAD, DYO condemn illegal taxation
Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The Business Association of Daraogapathar (BAD) and the Darogapathar Youth Organisation (DYO) condemned the illegal taxation by a certain Naga Political Groups (NPGs). According to a statement released by Imenuklo Longchar and Otto Murumi, president, BAD and General Secretary, DYO respectively, a reputed business establishment was forced to close down on October 2 as the establishment could not "pay the huge tax demanded" by a certain NPGs. The statement further appealed to the NPGs to be sensitive on the taxation issue and expressed its support to the call from the Business Association of Nagas (BAN) to exempt Naga entrepreneurs from taxation.
NSCN (IM) mourns demise of its members
Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of two of its members, WL Prakash Anal, Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Office and Tongsin Belover Anal, Tatar, Khurmi Region. Both of them joined the national service in 1993, a condolence note from its MIP stated. The note stated that both “served the Nation whole-heartedly until their demise” and conveys its condolence to the bereaved family.
DBS extends festive greetings
Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The President of Dimapur Bangali Samaj (DBS) has extended Durga Puja and Dussehra greetings to all the devotees. The DBS also expressed its happiness at the continued support and participation of all Naga friends who have been so friendly and amiable and have presented a great example of fellow feeling and togetherness.
Assam Rifles conducts awareness for Sainik School admission
Phek, October 13 (MExN): The Assam Rifles conducted an awareness programme on admission procedure to Sainik School, Punglwa at Phek town on October 12. Two teachers from the school spoke on various facilities available at the school campus and informed that students interested in joining the school would be facilitated by providing academic training and organized tuitions at the Battalion Headquarters, Phek to assist them in clearing the AISSEE (All India Sainik School Entrance Exam) 2019-20. A press release from the 22 Assam Rifles informed that 35 students & 32 parents from Phek attended the event.
