KMC prohibits sale of non-iodised salt

Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has reminded all concerned traders against the sale of non-iodised salt for human consumption, prohibited under the prevention of Food Adulteration (PFA) Act, 1954 and Rules 1955. Kovi Meyase, Administrator, KMC in a press release added that any individual/trader/wholesaler found selling non-iodised salt for human consumption will be liable for prosecution and shall be penalized under the relevant sections of the Act. Traders are also directed to mandatorily display Iodised Salt Danglers in their shops and also prominently inscribe “Not fit for human consumption “on salt products that are for purposes other than human consumption.  

NUN elects new executive board

Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Nagaland Users’ Network (NUN) held its 7th General assembly cum elections for its executive board on October 23 at RRTC hall, Red Cross building, Kohima. Representatives from 9 districts participated in the assembly, stated a press release from Rokozo, State Coordinator, NUN. The programme started with introduction of members from the districts. Activity updates was given by the State Coordinator and a report from the Treasurer. Nomination was invited from the house. The newly elected executive members of NUN came up with the new structure of the team with Kevinguto Khamo as President, Nukshinaro as Vice President, Neiba Kesiezie as General Secretary along with four other members and three advisors. The network wishes them all success and achievements during their tenure.
