
Kohima water supply disruption KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has informed that water supply to Kohima would be disrupted due to improvement and widening of National Highway 29 from Phesama check gate to KMC check gate bye pass, as the main water supply pipeline from Phesama source has been damaged and water supply to Dairy farm area, Lerie colony, AG colony, PWD, Chandmari and some portion of Kohima town has been affected. Er. P. Khetoi Sema, EE, PHED, Urban Division Kohima in a press release informed that the department is in the process of procuring materials for early restoration of water supply to the affected areas. In this connection, the department has requested the consumers to bear with the inconvenience. Mon DC informs Mon, November 2 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mon Thavaseelan K, IAS issued an order October 31 under section 4 of Indian Fisheries Act 1987 that the use of explosives and chemicals for fishing purpose is prohibited within the jurisdiction of Mon District. Such acts are detrimental to the river ecosystem and dangerous to human life and health. Non-compliance of the order would attract punishment as per the relevant Section of the said Act, he added. The DC has further requested all Village Council Authorities to be vigilant and cooperate with the District Administration to tackle the issue positively. NAYO demands Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) demanded the concerned investigating agency to accelerate the investigation and chargesheet the case at the earliest on the murder case of (L) Neiphretuo Metseio. It has further expressed its dissatisfaction over the State's law enforcing agency for delaying the investigation and added that "justice delayed is justice denied." The organization has cautioned any individuals or party from influencing the case or grant bail to anyone until such time the case is settled by the court.
