KMC to distribute biodegradable bags
Kohima, December 1 (MExN): In pursuance of the notification from the State Government of Nagaland notification restricting the use of plastics in Nagaland with the view to eradicate the menace of plastics, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has received 16500 biodegradable (Jute) bags under Chief Minister Corpus fund on November 30 for free distribution to the citizens and tourist. Accordingly the KMC have distributed to all 19 wards under its jurisdiction and to some prominent hotels. KMC, Administrator, Kovi Meyase in a press release appealed and requested to all the citizens of Kohima to stop using all one-time use plastic items.
CCTCA issue directives for shopkeepers
Dimapur, December 1 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Chambers of Trade and Commerce Association (CCTCA) has cautioned all its members not to entertain any kind of donation to any individuals or group during festive season. CCTCA president Avi Chase and general secretary James Kin while extending gratitude to EAC Chümoukedima town for constructing good drainage and footpath in 2nd gate area Chümoukedima town, it is noticed that some vendor shops are putting up their goods on the footpath. Therefore, such shopkeepers are requested to immediately remove their goods and keep the footpath passage free for public interest.It also informed that during year 2017-2018 Swacch Survekshan Survey, Chümoukedima town stood rank 6 in cleanliness among other town in Nagaland, and 2018-2019 survey team will be visiting during December 15, 2018 to January 15, 2019. Therefore, the CCTCA had requested all the citizens in Chümoukedima town not just to decorate or light up their houses, but to keep their home and their surroundings clean. It further informed that the best three decorated shops will be given prizes. In connection with Swacch Bharat all shops shall compulsorily buy two dustbin one green colour for wet waste and one blue colour for dry waste, to be provided at half price from market rate, with the kind effort of present dedicated administrator EAC of Chümoukedima.
Jalukie police station informs
Peren, December 1 (MExN): The Jalukie police station has informed that one lady (around 30 years) was found loitering around New Jalukie village area in Peren district on October 10. The Jalukie police station tried to ascertain her identity but she was unable to give any concrete information. She was then taken to the community Health Centre Jalukie and conducted medical examination and found to be mentally challenged. As per the information gathered from her, her name is Sevarti belong to Bihari (Bhojpuri Community). For lack of logistic/shelter facility to keep her in the custody, the police has forwarded the said women to the women Helpline, Kohima, Nagaland, with a prayer to assist and support her to connect to her family or relatives, a press release from Jalukie police station informed.
CITEN Nagaland Chapter meet
Dimapur, December 1 (MExN): The Consultative meeting of the Confederation of Indian Tribal Entrepreneurs Nagaland (CITEN) State Chapter will be held on December 4, 1:00 pm at Cafe Hope opposite DABA Duncan Bosti Dimapur. Johnny G Rengma, Director, National Scheduled Tribe Finance Development Cooperation, Ministry of Tribal Affairs will be addressing the meeting. All the office bearers of the Confederation of Indian Tribal Entrepreneurs Nagaland State Chapter (CITEN) have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
