PAC updates on Dec 10 Dimapur bandh
Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): The PAC, NCD has called for a complete Dimapur district bandh on December 10 from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. The PAC has requested the passengers travelling by train or flight to reach the station/airport before the bandh hour to show support and concern on the burning issues confronting the citizens. The PAC has however informed that the para-military, police, district administration, wedding, funeral, student exam duty, hospital, medical duty and media will be relaxed in the interest of the public. A statement from the media cell of PAC, NCD appealed to the public for the support, cooperation and bear the inconvenience.
CID apprehends three for extortion
Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): The Dimapur Crime Branch CID (PHQ) apprehended three persons namely Tokiye Awomi (37) Lt Col of NSCN (K), Kahoto Aye (37) Tatar of NSCN (K), and Hokheto Yepthomi (27) allegedly on charges of extortion from a brick kiln located near Dobagaon village on December 7. A press release from the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO informed that one .22 pistol, nine live rounds .22 ammns , two IED explosives, Rs.96000/- cash and one Maruti car were seized from their possession. In this regard a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station under relevant Section of IPC, Arms Act, Explosive Act and UAP Act for further investigation.
NSCN (IM) informs on gambling and liquor
Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has informed that it has received complaints from the Church leaders, Civil Society Organizations and various NGOs on the indulgence in gambling and sale of liquor at night Carnival in and around Dimapur. Such activities are unchristian and appealed for cooperation from the public to maintain peace and tranquility. The statement from MIP also informed that the GPRN 2019 Government Calendar has been released and appealed to the public to consider it as a national souvenir and extend cooperation.
RSZ condemns
Tseminyu, December 8 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) has condemned the alleged personal and verbal threat made against senior officer R Binchilo Thong,IAS Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland by Y Patton, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Nagaland. In a statement issued by the President, Kenneth Kath, the RSZ stated that “the government should take seriously and appropriately intervene in the matter to keep up the morale of the government officials and the bureaucracy to discharge their duties professionally, impartially and effectively.”
Sanis VDBSU writes to Advisor, Rural Dev
Kohima, Decemebr 8 (MExN): The Sanis Block VDB Secretaries Union (VDBSU) have written an open letter to the Advisor, Rural Development, Nagaland requesting the retention of Hamdok M Konyak, BDO Sanis. In the letter, the Union stated that the BDO “have carried out many developmental programmes and policies introduced by the state/central government at the block level which had immensely benefitted the rural populace.” The letter further stated that the retention of Hamdok M Konyak is in the interest of the village, block leaders and public in general.
