KVK Dimapur celebrate World Soil Day
 
Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): KVK Dimapur celebrated the World Soil Day on December 5 at Dhansiripar village to remind the farming community the importance of Soil. The Chairman of the village council, Joydhwaj Hasnu, encouraged the gathering to utilise the opportunity provided by the KVK and extend all the cooperation required from time to time while carrying out Soil testing and to come forward to get their soil tested which will benefit them only. V Kenny Rhetso, CTO (Home Science), informed that soil testing is important so that we can judiciously apply the required nutrients for our crops. Z James Kikon, ACTO (Soil Science), briefed the farmers about soil health and its management and also the benefits and of getting the soil tested. Various steps involve in the soil sample collection were discussed during the interaction held. A total of 27 participants attended the programme.
 
Career guidance seminar at Unity College
 
Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): Unity College IQAC Cell organised career guidance and counselling session on December 7 at the College Seminar Hall. The resource person was Angam Niumai, Assistant Professor, Fashion Management Studies from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Shillong. He spoke on the scope and avenues of Fashion Technology. The College extend its appreciation to the resource person for taking time to encourage and motivate the students.
 
PSU 60th session cum seminar
 
Kohima, December 9 (MExN): The Phek Students’ Union (PSU) will be holdings its 60th session cum seminar on December 28 at Phek Village Community hall under the theme “Quality Education.” MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the inaugural speaker. The resource persons will include Suohienuo Keyho, senior lecturer State Institute of Rural Development and Rukuzo Hoshi, post graduate teacher GHSS Medziphema. They will speak on the topic “Socio economic development through education” and “New Challenges for students in 2019” respectively. Greetings will be shared by Phek Village Council chairman Chivozo Soho.
 
Vivienda Girls Hostel celebrates advent Christmas
 
Kohima, December 9 (MExN): The Vivienda Girls Hostel, Lower Chandmari, Kohima celebrated Advent Christmas on December 7 with Neino Zhotso, Women Pastor, Minister Hill Baptist Church, Kohima as speaker. The program was led by Moaren, the hostel monitor while Kobuuno, Warden said the invocation prayer. Nyujoy read the scripture portion and a group song was presented by the Vivienda Girls Hostellers.  Kezhokhoto Savi delivered the Christmas message and Neino Zhotso spoke on "True Love Waits" which was very beneficial to the young girls.
 
State level Indigenous games competition 
 
Kohima, December 9 (MexN): The first state level Indigenous Games Competition in commemoration of Dr T Ao centenary celebration will be held on December 13 to 14 at IG Stadium, Kohima. The District Youth Resources Officers have also been entrusted to organize lecture on Dr T Ao in their respective Headquarters on December 15.
 
Immanuel College celebrates pre-Christmas
 
Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): Evangelical Union (EU) Immanuel College organized a Pre Christmas programme at the College Auditorium on December 5. The speaker for the programme was Pastor Yabang LKR, stated a press release. In his sermon, he exhorted on how we should not commercialize Christmas and instead be shepherds and a light to others this Christmas. The programme was led by Juving B.sc IV sem. Christmas Carol was presented by Praise & Worship Team, 'what Christmas means to me' by Rosy Kithan Asst Prof Chemistry, Gloria by main hostellers (Boys), Choreography by Amen & Co, Message through song- Nola, Bible reading- Mopa A Konyak. Programme concluded with message and benediction by the speaker.

THN condoles Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): The Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland (THN) condoled the demise of Joseph Singnaisui, former President of THN who passed away on December 6 at Ukhrul. In a condolence message, the THN stated that his demise has caused a great vacuum and a huge loss for the Tangkhul community and expressed heartfelt condolence to his family members.  

Lotha Hoho appoints new executives

Wokha, December 9 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho has appointed a new team of office bearers on December 3 for December 2018-November 2022 tenure.The new office bearers comprised of Mhondamo Ovung as Chairman, S Mhonlumo Lotha as Vice Chairman; S Abenthung Ngullie, as General Secretary and Renponthung Ezung as Treasurer. This appointment, according to a press relase was done with the recommendations of the Selection Committee which was appointed on November 26 by the Lotha Hoho Executive Council and unit representatives, as per the provisions of Section II of the Lotha Hoho Guidelines.
