ECC condemns crime upon student

Dimapur, August 9 (MExN): Eastern Christian College(ECC), Padumpukhuri, Dimapur has condemned the “barbaric crime” committed upon one of its student Mikato Yeptho, who was shot in the leg in a firing incident by the accused Puloto Awomi on August 4 at Purana Bazaar. The Principal of ECC, Dr Keneisenuo Solo in a press release stated that “there was no place for such kind of heinous act perpetuated to its member by the accused.” Asserting that such act needs to be “highly condemned by all the right thinking citizens, the principal urged upon the Law enforcing agency to seriously deal with the matter, “so that no such kind of incident will happen again.” The College also acknowledged Dimapur Police for its swift action in arresting the culprit within 24 hours. It further prayed for the quick recovery of its student.

 

One Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) cadre held 

Kohima, August 9 (MExN): A cadre of Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) was arrested in general area Project Colony, Zunheboto on August 7, an official statement informed. Based on specific information regarding presence of active cadre, troops of Assam Rifles launched the operation and arrested “Captain Hito Sumi of Litsami village, Zunheboto alongwith one 9mm pistol with magazine,” maintained the statement issued by PRO, HQ IGAR (N), Lt Col L Vincent Patton. He was involved in “extortion activities in Zunheboto,” it said, adding that the “apprehendee along with recoveries was handed over to Zunheboto police Station for further investigation.”

 

Deputy CM condoles Swaraj demise

Dimapur, August 9 (MExN): The Deputy Chief Minister, in a condolence message issued through its Media Cell has stated that he is pained to learn about the untimely demise of Sushma Swaraj, former Union Minister for External Affairs who passed away on August 7 at AIIMS in Delhi. “Sushmaji was a firebrand Parliamentarian, a lawyer and an Orator besides being a senior BJP leader. In her death the Nation has lost a tall leader and a visionary. With deep reverence to the deceased, I along with the State BJP legislators convey our deepest condolences to her husband Swaraj Kaushal and the family members during this time of grief,” stated the Deputy CM. 

 

NSCN (IM) condoles 

Hebron, August 9 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the untimely demise of Late Aheto Kiba, Khapur of Union Territory (UT), from Asukhuto village under Sumi Region. Who passed away on August 6 after a prolonged illness.  “For his selfless service rendered for the Naga nation, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifices ever be cherished,” stated the NSCN (IM) in a condolence message issued through its MIP cell. The NSCN (IM) further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the bereaved soul to rest in eternal peace.
