
NPP for Northeast and its people
Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): The National Peoples’ Party (NPP), Nagaland unit today affirmed to stand by Northeast and protect its people against any atrocities that will negatively affect the security and stability of the region. The NPP in a press release by State Secretary-IPR Ricky Ozukum, also acknowledged National President Conrad K Sangma for his tireless effort in maintaining a clear stand to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The state unit further extended gratitude to all the indigenous people of Northeast and all the organizations and political parties that stood against the Bill. Stating that this was a victory for Northeast and democracy, the state unit prayed to unite all the collective minds as one and work for more greater cause in future for the people of Northeast.
Election monitoring meeting held
Kohima, February 13 (MExN): Election Expenditure and Monitoring meeting was held in connection with the conduct of forthcoming Lok Sabha General Election on February 12 at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima. According to a DIPR report, Assistant Commissioner and Nodal Officer, EEM, Vineet Kumar, IAS briefed the expenditure monitoring team members on major legal provisions related to election expenditure monitoring; risks of money power in democracy; purpose of election expenditure monitoring etc. He sought the cooperation from various teams for the successful conduct of election and requested the members to be prepared with their entrusted duties for efficient conduct of the Elections.
