Dimapur declared ODF

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Albert Ezung has informed the general public that the DMC has declared its area as “Open Defecation Free (ODF).” “In this connection anybody found defecting in the open shall be penalized with a fine of Rs 50,” DMC Administrator cautioned in a press release.

 

ANSTA Peren Unit supports ZSUN ultimatum 

Peren, September 24 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) Peren Unit today extended support to the ultimatum of the Zeliangrong Students' Union Nagaland (ZSUN) urging the concerned department to immediately cancel the transfer order of Megosilie GT Math, GMS Ngam and Megovizo GT, GMS Old Ngaulong. The Association, Peren Unit in a press release stated that transfer of teacher within the district was acceptable but transferring of teachers across the district was “unacceptable and is step motherly treatment of the department to a particulars district.” In this regard, the Association reiterated the concerned department to revoke the transfer order of the duo in the larger interest of the student community.

 

AR apprehends two NDFB cadres

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Assam Rifle and TA “based on specific information regarding movement of two militants” from Tobu towards Assam, launched an operation in general area Yamung R on September 22. During the operation, two National Democratic Front of Boroland (NBFB) cadre from Longleng district were apprehended. The two apprehendees have been identified as Janak Boro (23 yrs), resident of Bisharkhona, Kokrajhar district and Bijay Boro, (18 Yrs), resident of Sanabari, Kokrajhar district. Lt Col, L Vincent Patton PRO, HQ IGAR (N) in a press release informed that “recoveries from the cadres included one 7.62 mm AK 47 with Mag and 29 live rounds.” The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Longleng Police Station for further investigation.

 

One arrested with ‘illegal’ weapons

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation on general area, Diphubar on September 21 and apprehend one “active UG cadre” of NSCN (KN) namely Major Khetoi Kiba Aviu (48 yrs) a resident of Askhumi district Zunheboto “with a point 32 mm Pistol with ammunition and other incriminating material.” This was informed in a press release issued by Lt Col, L Vincent Patton, PRO HQ IGAR (N). “The apprehendee along with recovered items was handed over to Diphupar Police Station for further investigation,” it informed.

 

NSBSG trekking & nature study prog

Kohima, September 24 (MExN): The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) will be hosting the regional level trekking and nature study programme from the September 26 to 30. About 100 scouts and guides, from all the North East States, will initially camp at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on  September 26, and trek around Kohima. On September 27 the trekkers will move to the State Training Center, Nerhema to go on a trek and nature study in the neighboring villages. Officials of the NSSBG will also have a meeting with the Assistant Director, Bharat Scouts and Guides, North Eastern Region, who is coming to organize the Trekking program. This was informed in a press release issued by Atuo Mezhür Sekhose, State Chief Commissioner.

 

DCC Wokha meet

Wokha, September 24 (MExN): The General Secretary DCC (administration), Wokha has informed all the District Congress Committee (DCC) office bearers of DMCC, DYC, ACCC and Seva dal that there will be a meeting at DCC office Chamber at 10:00 am on September 26. All concerns have been requested to attend the same positively.

 

DNEE emergency meet preponed 

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Nkonjang Ezung Ekhüng (DNEE) emergency meeting of the executive committee, advisors and village representatives scheduled to be held on September 27 has been preponed to September 26 due to some unavoidable circumstances. “Others will remain the same,” informed a press release issued by DNEE Secretary, Saheo Ezung.
