Free cancer screening & detection camp in Mokokchung

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): A free cancer screening and early cancer detection camp organized by Eden Medical Center, Dimapur and Seva Bharati, Nagaland in collaboration with Dr lmkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung will be held on November 2 from 09:00 am onwards at Dr lmkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung. A press release from Eden Medical Center, Dimapur Nagaland stated that most common cancers prevalent in Nagaland are Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, Oesophageal Cancer, Cancer Cervix and Breast Cancer. Screening for these cancers will be conducted during the camp free of cost. Any person with swelling or nodules in any part of the body or breast, patients with vaginal discharge, and persons with non healing ulcer can visit the screening camp. Persons interested and aware of these common cancers may also attend the camp and get checked and tested.  Free examination, FNAC, Biopsy, PAP smear will be done during the camp. 

 

NDPP candidate appeals for maximum help to flood victims

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): Supu Jamir, NDPP candidate 2 Dimapur-II today appealed the concerned authorities to provide maximum helping hands to the flood victims in Dimapur. While acknowledging Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for the visit and help rendered, Jamir also acknowledged the district administration and the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) for the timely intervention. Meanwhile, Jamir also appealed the concerned authorities to use the relief provided judiciously so that the benefits “will reach the right hand on the right time.”

 

Unclaimed dead body

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): One dead body of a female in a highly decomposed state was recovered from Dhansari river on October 27. A press release from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur stated that on completion of post-mortem examination, the body was being kept at the District Civil Hospital morgue for further identification.

 

FGN mourns demise  of Major General BS Hrai

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): On behalf of the Naga Army, the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has expressed grief and shock on the demise of Major General BS Hrai, member of National Defence Advisory Board (NDAB) on October 27 at 4th Mile Dimapur. “Major General BS Hrai, son of Seiba, Veymai village, Shepoumaramth Region joined Naga Army on August 28, 1968 and faithfully served the nation till his death. He was a time patriot and a recipient of Long Service Certificate, National Service Certificate and Military Cross (MC),” read a condolence message from General Tavecho Lala, Commander–in–Chief, Naga Army, FGN. His sudden demise is an irrecoverable loss and a vacuum created to the Nation and community, yet his true sacrifice and patriotic service rendered to the Nation shall always remain alive in the history of the Naga Nation, the message added. The FGN prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and that “the Almighty God provide peace and solace to the bereaved family members and relatives.”
