DDADU to conduct presidential election
Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) as per the resolution held by the Advisors of DDADU during the meeting held on November 2 has directed the election commission members to conduct the presidential election. As per a notification from Vikato Assumi, Election Commissioner (DDADU), the election will be held accordingly as per the union’s Constitution under Article VII & XI – only the executive council members for the tenure 2016 to 2019 will be eligible for the voting. The Election Commission has set the following dates for the election process, polling time from 9:00 am: November 7–8 as nomination day, November 9 as scrutiny, November 11 as withdrawal, November 13 as polling day and declaration.
AR provides emergency medical aid
Peren, November 4 (MExN): Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (N) provided medical support to a five year old girl on November 4. Widinbui, a five year old girl, from Tening town had sustained serious burns in her leg while playing by the fire in her house. As per a press release from Lt Col, L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N), an immediate neighbor informed about the incident at Tening COB for medical assistance. Troops, therein, rushed to the spot and provided necessary first aid and subsequently brought the girl to the COB for ensuring better treatment, it added.
Dr Vikuosa Nienu mourns demise of Bendang Ao
Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): Dr Vikuosa Nienu, USA has mourned the demise of N Bendang Ao who passed away on November 1. A condolence message from Dr Nienu read, “I have known late Bendang long before I left for the USA in 1974. We often crossed each other’s path when I was serving as the Investigator of Research for Cultural Research and State Museum, and he, as the then Deputy Director of Information and Publicity Department. During those days, I used to organize Musical Concerts and Variety Shows, and his department was always involved.” Continuing the legacy of their relationship, Bendang and his wife visited their family during one of their visits to the USA, the message added. “My wife joins me in sending our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. May the Lord grant His peace and comfort in time of grief,” it added.
MIKE Kohima 7th Graduation day
Kohima, November 4 (MExN): Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MIKE) Kohima will be holding its 7th graduation day 2019 on November 5, 10:00 am at MITE Auditorium. Dr Apeni Lotha, additional director, Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland will grace the occasion as the special guest.
Gandhi Katha at Raj Bhavan
Kohima, November 4 (MExN): In commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Governor, Dr Shobhana Radhakrishna, Chief Functionary, Gandhian Forum of Ethical Corporate Governance, New Delhi will be presenting ‘Gandhi Katha’ at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima on November 6 at 5:30 pm.
