DDADU presidential election ‘null & void’

Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): Apropos the Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) presidential election, the dates of which were published in November 5 issue of The Morung Express, former general secretary Inito Shohe has declared the election “totally null and void.” In a rejoinder, Shohe referred to a letter from the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Dimapur, Nagaland dated October 30, stating that the “DDADU Advisors should initiate to set up a new election  commission and in verbal communication by the two parties with the Assistant Labour Commissioner to amicably select election commission.” However, to their surprise, Shohe alleged that despite the ALC’s refusal on November 4 regarding the resolution passed by the Advisors, election commissioner Vikato Assumi declared the date of conduct of elections, without the consent of the intending candidate, it added.
