ANGPTA informs
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers' Association (ANGPTA) has informed all district unit presidents and colleagues to list out the names of delegates and office bearers attending the conference on February 4 and submit it to the respective DEO, Sr SDEO or SDEO so that they may be exempted from the training this time and be included in the next phase. For Kohima District Unit, all the primary teachers are compulsory to attend the conference and there will be strict attendance, stated a press release issued by ANGPTA General Secretary Hoshika H Sumi.
AGEGAN 2nd general conference on Feb 8
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Agricultural Engineering Graduates Association of Nagaland (AGEGAN) has convened its 2nd general conference on February 8 at Ungma Kiti, near Cimorb hotel, Kohima. A press release from AGEGAN Info & Pub Secretary, C Yamukam has directed all bonafide members to attend the conference without fail and renew their membership with the Association. Failure to comply with the Association’s directives will lead to necessary action against them for the greater interest of the Association, the release added.
ASTD congratulates Dr SC Jamir
Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has lauded its member, former Chief Minister and Governor, Dr SC Jamir on being honoured with the Padma Bhushan Award in the field of Public Affairs by the President of India. ASTD in a press release issued by its President, L Wati Jamir and Secretary, K Mar Lemtur stated that Dr SC Jamir as the pioneer and torch bearer of Naga political scenario and lone living signatory to the 16 Point Agreement in 1960, has been an illustrious son of the soil and a statesman who truly deserved the honour acknowledging his significant contributions and sacrifices in public field. The Union prays that Almighty God will grant him good health and long life, so that he can be a real mentor, guiding light for the younger generation on the endeavour in emancipating the era of difficult period of our people’s journey towards united, peaceful and prosperous Nagaland.
Awareness workshop on energy conservation
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): An awareness workshop on Energy Conservation for stakeholders under Kohima municipalities is scheduled for February 6 at the conference hall of KMC, Kohima from 1:45 PM onwards. All colony and ward chairman or representative from each ward/colony under KMC have been requested to join the programme without fail.
Combined annual training camp of NCC cadets in Khm
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The NCC Kohima Nagaland is conducting the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-113) of NCC Cadets from February 1 to 10 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima. NCC cadets from all over the state of Nagaland with strength of approx 500 cadets will be attending the said camp.
DC Kohima informs on annual house tax
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has informed all the concerned Gaon Buras under Kohima Sardar Areas to submit the annual house tax for the year 2019-2020 to the office of the Deputy Commissioner Kohima on or before February 25. The house tax has to be collected by the concerned GBs. Failure to submit the house tax within the stipulated time will entail forfeiture of the House Tax Commission and Red Blankets to the erring GBs.
ENCSU literary session held
Longleng, January 30 (MExN): Literary session as part of the Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) conference cum sports meet was held at Borgohain hall, Yingli College, Longleng on January 29 with Menuikholie Kire, Joint Directorate (Admin & RUSA) Higher Education as special guest and BS Nanglang Phom, MLA as literary guest. Calling upon the gathering, Kire said that student’s main focus should be on academics, he said and urged them to be dedicated and hardworking. BS Nanglang Phom in his speech said that college and younger days are the most crucial stage and to compete with others we have to be smart and dedicated. Mane Phom delivered exhortation while welcome address was given by Serichem Sangtam, Vice president, ENCSU.
Free text book distribution
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education, Nagaland has directed all the Sub-Divisional Education Officers (SDEO) to distribute the free text book to the respective schools before the commencement of the regular classes. Stating this in a release, school education principal director Shanavas C asked them to submit the distribution report to the text book section Room N0.10, Ground Floor on or before February 15.
Old Riphyim VC general meeting
Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Old Riphyim Village Council informed all general public of the village that there will be a general meeting on February 1, 10:00 am at Tourist Lodge, ‘C’ Khel, Old Riphyim. All villagers are requested to attend the said meeting positively.
NSCN (R) mourns demise of late Yekuto Kiba
Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): The NSCN (R) has expressed pain at the demise of late Yekuto Kiba (Leacy), of Hevikhe Village on January 30. Late Yekuto was serving under UT1 as Leacy and in his untimely demise, the Nation have lost a comrade who had the potential to becoming a good leader, and an asset to the Naga National Cause, stated a condolence message issued by MIP NSCN (R). The NSCN (R) prayed for the departed soul to rest peace and for the bereaved family members and friends to find solace.
Corrigendum
Peren, January 30 (MExN): The Zeliang Tribal Council (ZTC) has informed that the scheduled election will be held on February 21 and not as rendered in the earlier release. The last date for nomination paper is February 10 and not 16. The ZTC Election Commission has expressed regret for the errors.
