DMC cautions unhygienic butcher outlets
Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): Officials of the Dimapur Municipal Council along with the presidents and members of DUCCF and GB's Union (Sadar) Dimapur undertook inspection of all unauthorized cut/dressed and processed meat (pork/beef) selling in the open/roadside within the jurisdiction of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) on February 10. As per a press release from DMC Administrator Albert Ezung, it issued strict directives to the butchers to stop the practice immediately which was illegal and un-hygienic for human consumption. The release said it further asked the concerned colony authority to see that the order was followed.
PTCSU on HSLC and HSSLC exams
Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) today informed all the concerned citizens within its jurisdiction to maintain a conducive and peaceful environment for students appearing HSLC and HSSLC examinations. PTCSU President Surhoveyi Khesoh and Press Secretary Diezekho Vadeo in a press release also informed that it shall strictly deal with students loitering around after 5:00 pm during the ongoing examination. The Union cautioned “against those playing loud music and creating unnecessary noisy vehicular pollution.” Further, it conveyed best wishes to all students appearing their examinations.
LSU election on Feb 20
Wokha, February 11 (MExN): The Election Commission of the Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has informed that election for the tenure 2020-2023 will be held on February 20 at Town Hall Wokha, from 10:00 am. As per a press release from LSU Election Commissioner, Yiben Humtsoe, filing of nomination will be held on February 18, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at LSU office. Withdrawal and scrutiny of the candidates will be done on February 19, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
AMEN amends procedure of membership collection
Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The Association of Mechanical Engineers Nagaland (AMEN) has amended the procedure of collecting membership fee to a calendar year (February-December) instead of previous method (June-July, the following year) in effect. As per a press release from AMEN General Secretary, Zubenthung N Shitio, this was decided in a meeting that was held on February 8 at the NSF Conference Hall, Kohima.
CTC informs on trade license renewal
Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The office of the Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has informed all the business establishment under Chümoukedima Town Council that renewal of trade license and fresh registration of firms will be done from February 15. In this regard, EAC and Administrator, CTC Thejavizo Nakhro, NCS in a press release has directed all the business establishments to register/renew their trade license as per Nagaland Municipal Act 2001. Defaulter(s) will be strictly dealt with as per the provision of law, the release added.
Excise Squad detects 6065 capsules of spasmoproxyvon
Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad duty party manning Chümoukedima Excise Check Gate detected 6065 capsules of spasmoproxyvon from a passenger bus during its routine checking of vehicles. The Squad arrested one Vihepu Yeptho and seized the items. As per a press release from K Toshiho Yeptho, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition (MS) Dimapur, the accused has been booked under relevant section Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and forwarded to Court. The duty party was led by AIE Rukhriezetuo and assisted by HC Rentsamo, constables Sentimeren, Ayangla, Yongmeth, Lilanthung, Kakheto and Angathong.
