Governor extends Sekrenyi greetings
Kohima, February 24 (MExN): Governor Nagaland RN Ravi has extended Sekrenyi greetings to the Angami community on the occasion of Sekrenyi festival. He said that the Sekrenyi festival is an occasion for the Angami people to come together in the spirit of togetherness cleansing themselves of any ill will against each other. The Governor observed that it is festivals like Sekrenyi, which has kept the unity of the people through centuries, and urged the Angami youth to follow the tradition and appreciate the underlying intellectual, spiritual and philosophical significance of Sekrenyi for the community on this auspicious occasion. He wished peace, good health and prosperity to the people of Nagaland.
BJP greets on Sekrenyi Festival
Kohima, February 24 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Y Patton has send Sekrenyi mini Hornbill festival greetings to the Angamis, who are celebrating their premier festival starting from February 25. Patton said that festivals are depiction of our forefather’s ways of life. He added that to preserve and uphold it has become our bounden duty. The Dy CM on behalf of the state BJP legislators prayed that the Sekrenyi Festival will bring forth harmony and prosperity.
DAYO disapproves signatories to NSF ultimatum
Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): With reference to the ultimatum issued by Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), the Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) expressed shock that “communities/organizations outside the administrative jurisdiction of Nagaland Government are also signatories to the ultimatum.” The ultimatum served to the Chair of the Chief Minister of Nagaland by outsiders is ridiculous and uncalled for, the DAYO Media Cell stated in a press release. “We feel that the issue of backdoor appointment is purely an administrative issue within the state of Nagaland and therefore, it is not necessary that organizations outside Nagaland have to be a signatory to the ultimatum. Let any issues and grievances be resolved and decided by the stakeholders,” it added.
ENSF consultative emergency meet on February 29
Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has convened a consultative emergency meeting on February 29 at the Conference Hall DUDA Guest House, Kohima at 11:00 am. The Federating units (CCSU, Khiamniungan Students’ Union, Konyak Students’ Union, PSC, USSC and YAA) ENSF Advisors, ENPO, ENWO, ENGOA and former ENSF senior leaders are requested to attend without fail.
Finance department notifies
Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): The Finance Department in a notification reiterated that Dimapur Municipality/Mouza under Dimapur District of the State of Nagaland is a notified town for the purpose of Clause (f) of Section 58 of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 (Central Act 4 of 1882) with effect from 5th May 2006.
