Revenue Department informs on GST queries
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 28 (MExN): The Department of Revenue has informed members of trade and all concerned that offices under CCGST Dimapur Commissionerate up to the Range level situated in Dimapur, Kohima & Mokokchung will be available to take all GST related queries, suggestions & complaints and resolve the same on all working days from March 1 to March 15 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm without any prior appointment. Portal based system related issues and policy matters raised by Taxpayers would be escalated to appropriate authority by the Commissionerate for redressal.
Longleng, Wokha DCs ban hunting of wild animals
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 28 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, M Shayung Phom has banned hunting of wild animals in any form with immediate effect. This order was issued taking into account the current outbreak and spread of the coronavirus across the world. The DC directed all village councils under Longleng district to ensure enforcement of the order under their respective jurisdiction untill further order. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha also informed Village Councils under Wokha District to immediately impose ban on hunting of wild animals in their respective jurisdiction with immediate effect. “Reports and past experiences with Corona Virus and other respiratory viruses suggest that there may have been transmission of virus from wild animals to human,” the DC said.
One arrested with heroin
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 28 (MExN): The Narcotics Cell of the Excise Department apprehended on woman on February 18 for illegal possession of Narcotic Drug (Heroin) weighing 24 gms. The accused was caught red handed while she was attempting to sell the contraband in Nagarjan area, informed a press release from the Deputy Commissioner of Excise. The accused was later forwarded to judicial custody and booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act 1985. The Excise Narcotic Cell duty party consisted of AIE Chuba Yim, Constables Merila, L. Khumeng, Chumbenthung and Rokovikho.
Peren District to celebrate Women’s Day
Peren, February 28 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has informed that under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Peren District will be celebrating ‘International Women’s Day’ on March 8 by conducting various awareness and sensitization programs and functions from March 2 onwards. The week-long celebration shall consist of different activities organized across all the sub-divisions of the district on the theme ‘I am Generation Equality.’ All stakeholders have been asked to extend co-operation towards this celebration.
